Why I Give, Part 3

Why do you give? We asked our donors for their answers and we'll be sharing their replies all week long. Hear what they had to say, along with some recent responses we received from school kids after a performance of Cirque Ziva-- you'll see the impact that $35, through our Give A Kid A Seat campaign, can have. We hope you'll consider adding us to your list this holiday season!

Thanks to the New Victory, Sadie is already a huge fan of Opera and Shakespeare. The exposure she has received to innovative Plays, Musicals, Circus, and Dance, has given her an extraordinary grasp of what it is possible to see and to do on a stage, and as the offerings are as culturally diverse as they are universal, her world view has been richly expanded. In addition to being avid audience members, we are supporters of the theater. I am honored to help the New Vic continue to share its offerings with school children, many of whom otherwise might never have set foot in a theater. -- Elizabeth, New Vic Donor

The intimacy and immediacy of a live performance cannot be captured on tape or on film or even on the printed page. Every kid should have the chance to experience that magic. Every performer deserves a shot at the big time in New York City. There is just nothing like live theater. I can’t get enough. It’s not entertainment—it’s life. You have to BE there. That is why I support the New Vic.-- Michael, New Vic Donor

Going to the New Victory was my son's first experience with the theater. We loved the variety of shows and the welcoming atmosphere of the theater of staff. Although my son and I attend Broadway, dance and opera, we value our membership with the New Victory above the others. Dealing with the wonderful staff is part of why we keep coming back. -- Deborah, New Vic Donor
